SOCIAL STUDIES 

 
POSITION:  The Reedsport School District will hire a full-time teacher to conduct secondary Social Studies classes.  The successful candidate will help every student understand civic responsibility and engagement, global relationships, enhanced communication, evaluate historical and contemporary issues, and make connections between the past, present and future, in accordance with each student’s individual abilities.   The starting salary range is $36,223 to $63,390, depending on education and experience, and includes an excellent benefits package.  The 176 day (153 student contact days) assignment begins August 28th, 2017 and is open until filled.   Please submit a cover letter and resume to start the application process (see contact information, below).

POSITION:  Youth Transition Program Coordinator (.50 FTE)        

 JOB GOAL / DEFINITION:
Under the general supervision of the building administrator / Special Education case manager, the Transition Specialist will coordinate, plan, and implement the Youth Transition Program (YTP) School to Work Program for the Reedsport School District.  This work is done in collaboration with the Reedsport High School Special Education team to identify community work sites that provide qualified students the opportunity to gain meaningful employment skills within a structured work setting.  The Transition Specialist will also work with the High School Special Education team to facilitate the provision of Pre-Employment Transition services for all students with disabilities at Reedsport Community Charter School.
 REPORTS TO:  RCCS Building Administrator and/or Special Education Case Manager
EVALUATION: Following the 180-day probationary period, performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Special Education Director in accordance with the School Board policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 20 hours per week, days and hours to be arranged, with wage placement according to the district’s current classified salary schedule.  This is a 12-month position, with a July schedule of 5 hours per week.

 ASPIRE Coordinator-RCCS
​Reedsport Community Charter School is accepting applications for an ASPIRE Coordinator position.
ASPIRE trains adults volunteers to work one-on-one with high school students helping them to plan, prepare and achieve their postsecondary education goals, which may be college or a career-technical school. The ASPIRE coordinator is responsible for the day to day supervision of ASPIRE mentors. open until filled.

  • Supervise student athletes to, at and from events
  • Communicate with school personnel, student athletes and parents
  • Maintain equipment and inventory
  • Monitor safety of all participants and follow safety protocols
  • Develop player fundamentals
  • Oversee assistant coaches
  • Increase athletic participation in the program
  • Coordinate with the athletic director and others for facility usage
  • Improve competitiveness
  • Knowledge of the sport
