Teacher-Special Education at Highland Elementary School
The Reedsport School District is accepting applications for a full-time licensed teacher to work with special needs students in a classroom setting.  The primary responsibility for this position is to teach Communication Skills, Social Skills, Functional Academics, Self-Management, Home Living Skills, Community Access Skills, and Vocational Skills to a small group of students in a K-6 grade public school setting.  The teacher will be supported with not less than two, full-time instructional assistants and the District will provide clerical support staff. Qualified Applicants must have a Valid Oregon teaching license with preference in handicap learner, exceptional, or severe exceptional learner endorsement and appropriate grade level authorization; be familiar with a variety of age-appropriate instructional, assessment, and behavior management strategies; be familiar with Oregon special education and federal IDEA requirements; have clear understanding of the IEP process and Special Education Law; ability to write effective, timely, state-compliant IEPs; meet the standards of Competent and Ethical Performance as outlined in Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR 584-020-0000 to 584-020-0045); have the ability to direct students in a positive, productive, and clear manner; have the ability to direct the work of instructional assistant(s), and good computer skills with document management organization strengths.

Elementary Classroom Teachers, 1.0 FTE,
Highland Elementary School is hiring Full Time, Elementary Classroom Teachers for the 2017-18 School Year. Successful candidates will have knowledge of Current Concepts, methods and procedures of curriculum development and implantation, Laws, rules, procedures, policies, and trends regarding instruction, Evaluation techniques, Performance based education, Human development and learning, Communication techniques, Current health and safety procedures and practices, and Effective instructional strategies and techniques. Successful candidates should have the ability to Develop appropriate curriculum, Interpret and comply with laws, rules and policies, Evaluate student needs and progress, Implement accepted principles of instruction, Maintain acceptable student behavior and discipline, and Communicate effectively. Qualified applicants must have an Oregon Teaching Certificate valid for assignment, be NCLB Highly Qualified, and have knowledge of child growth and development at each level of instruction, familiarity with Common Core State Standards, and Experience with multi-age planning and instruction. ESOL, GLAD, SIOP preferred.
Salary Range: $36,223 -$63,390 DOE with Benefit Package.

ASPIRE Coordinator-RCCS 
Reedsport Community Charter School is accepting applications for an ASPIRE Coordinator position. ASPIRE trains adult volunteers to work one-on-one with high school students helping them to plan, prepare and achieve their postsecondary education goals, which may be college or a career-technical school. The ASPIRE coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of ASPIRE mentors. Qualified applicants must have; an understanding of volunteer management or have a history of volunteering; ability to use email, Internet, and basic word processing software; ability to  work in a professional school environment; maintain confidentiality; a strong sense of commitment, dependability, patience and non-judgmental attitude. A college degree is not required, however, experience as a student at a career-technical school/college is preferable. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License. PE Teacher-0.5 FTE-RCCS
Reedsport School District will hire a half time P.E. Teacher at Reedsport Community Charter School for the 2017/18 school year.
Job Description: Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; teaching knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, and related movement through planned individual, dual and team activities. Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter that is aligned with Oregon Content Standards for Physical Education - Expressive and Efficient Moving, Fitness for Lifetime, and Self-Management and Social Behavior common curriculum goals. In collaboration with district policy and school rules, establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in physical education activities at all times. Perform other duties, as needed, as requested by the building administrator. Qualified applicants must possess a Valid Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in Physical Education. Position closes May 1st, 2017.

Spanish Teacher-0.5 FTE-RCCS
Reedsport School District is accepting applications for a Half time Spanish Teacher at Reedsport Community Charter School for the 2017/18 School year.  
Job Description: Under the general supervision of the building administrator, performs a variety of tasks with the major responsibility being the instruction and supervision of students. The duties of a Spanish language teacher include creating lesson plans, preparing classroom activities, organizing teaching materials, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, teachers and other professionals, and any other duties so assigned. Qualified Applicants must have a valid Oregon Teacher’s License with a Spanish languageendorsement. Salary will be based on the Teacher Salary Schedule and will be based on experience and education. Position closes May 1st, 2017.
